Water Treatment Chemicals

PolyDADMAC

A liquid cationic polymer for water-treatment coagulation and process applications. Choose a model by solid content, intrinsic viscosity and the performance required in your system.

CAS 26062-79-3

Poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride)

Poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride), also written PDMDAAC.

Technical specifications

The values below describe the liquid model in our product specification. GB/T 33085-2016 is the applicable national-standard reference for water-treatment PolyDADMAC. Confirm the full model specification and test conditions with the TDS.

Liquid model · key parameters

ParameterSpecification
AppearanceColourless to light-yellow transparent liquid
Solid content≥20.0%
Intrinsic viscosity≥0.50 dL/g
Residual DADMAC monomer · dry basis≤1.0%
Sodium chloride · dry basis≤2.5%
pHConfirmed by model

Intrinsic viscosity is reported in dL/g and must not be confused with bulk viscosity in mPa·s. Other concentrations or viscosity requirements are reviewed by model.

Applications

Water & wastewater treatment

For coagulation and solids-separation programmes. Select the model and dosing arrangement against the actual water characteristics.

Textile & dyeing processes

Discuss colour-removal and process-water requirements, with treatment trials to evaluate the proposed product.

Paper & industrial processes

PolyDADMAC models can be discussed for paper and other industrial process applications. Share the process chemistry and required performance.

Oilfield & mining water

A cationic-polymer option for solids-separation programmes in oilfield and mining water treatment. Discuss the water chemistry, existing coagulant and trial conditions.

Specify the polymer and test method

Compare models on the same solid-content basis and viscosity test method. Confirm pH for the selected model when requesting its TDS.

1. Provide the application, current treatment chemicals and the target water or process result.

2. Specify solid content and whether your viscosity requirement is intrinsic or bulk viscosity, including the test temperature and method.

3. Review the selected model’s TDS, trial its dose and compatibility, then agree the packing and delivery requirements.

Support for a combined treatment programme

Our laboratory and technical teams can review the selected polymer alongside your existing treatment programme. Discuss compatibility and trial results before agreeing the model and dosing arrangement.

Packaging & supply

125 kg / 200 kg drums

Plastic-drum packing for the selected liquid model. Confirm net weight, labelling and handling requirements by order.

IBC bulk packing

IBC supply can be discussed for bulk orders. Filling weight, pallet arrangements and loading quantity are confirmed for the product and destination.

Sample availability, quantity and buyer-paid international courier charges are agreed before dispatch.

Storage

Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, ventilated place away from direct sunlight. Follow the selected model’s SDS for storage temperature, compatibility and shelf life.

Common questions

Is there a Chinese national standard for PolyDADMAC?

Yes. GB/T 33085-2016 covers water-treatment poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride). Use the selected model’s complete specification and applicable test methods when agreeing supply.

Does ≥20% mean purity?

It refers to solid content in the liquid product. It is not a statement of polymer purity.

Which viscosity should I specify?

State the method and units. Intrinsic viscosity in dL/g differs from bulk viscosity in mPa·s; the two values cannot be used interchangeably.

Can PolyDADMAC be evaluated with PAC or PFS?

Yes. It can be considered as part of a treatment programme with inorganic coagulants. Use tests with the actual water to confirm compatibility, addition sequence and dosage for the selected models.

Documents & inquiry

Technical data sheet (TDS)

Model parameters, test conditions and preparation guidance.

Safety data sheet (SDS)

Handling, storage and chemical identity for the specified product.

Certificate of analysis (COA)

A representative COA supports model evaluation; a batch COA records the supplied lot’s results.
