Define the polymer’s role in the process
Begin with the water source or industrial process, the treatment stage and the result you want to improve. Include the current coagulants and polymers, addition points, separation equipment and available water analysis. For colour-removal work, describe the colour target and current treatment result.
State whether you are evaluating a replacement for an existing PolyDADMAC model or introducing it into a combined programme. That distinction helps define the comparison and the information needed for a useful trial.
Make the quoted parameters comparable
| Parameter | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Solid content | The required value for the supplied liquid. Keep this separate from a claim of polymer purity. |
| Viscosity | Intrinsic viscosity in dL/g or bulk viscosity in mPa·s, with the test method and temperature. |
| pH | The requirement and test conditions for the selected model. |
| Other limits | The complete model specification and reporting basis for residual monomer, salts and other required parameters. |
Intrinsic and bulk viscosity describe different measurements; their numbers are not interchangeable. If a quotation says only “viscosity”, ask for the type, units and method before comparing it with another model.
The PolyDADMAC product page contains the confirmed model limits and refers to GB/T 33085-2016 for water-treatment PolyDADMAC. Request the complete TDS for the proposed model. Keep pH as a model-specific item when agreeing the specification.
Evaluate it with the chemicals you actually use
PolyDADMAC can be considered in programmes that use inorganic coagulants such as PAC or PFS. Evaluate the selected models with actual water and confirm compatibility, addition sequence and dosage through the trial.
- Baseline: record the existing chemicals, preparation, addition points and treatment result.
- Candidate: identify the PolyDADMAC sample, solid content, any dilution and the dosage units.
- Outcome: compare the agreed water or process result, solids separation and handling observations under recorded conditions.
If PAM is also present, record its ionic family and model separately. The APAM, CPAM and NPAM guide helps define that part of the programme. Keep preparation and compatibility instructions tied to the proposed products.
Review handling and cost at the trial dose
Alongside the treatment result, confirm how the liquid will be transferred, stored and dosed with your equipment. Where a bulk-viscosity requirement comes from a pump or handling constraint, state that separately from the intrinsic-viscosity specification.
Compare quotations using the dose established by the trial and a clearly stated supplied-product basis. Include any preparation, delivery and pack-handling needs. Solid content is one input to this comparison; the selected model still needs to deliver the required process result.
Prepare the model and supply brief
Send the process information, parameter requirements and trial record with the required quantity and destination. Choose drums or an IBC arrangement around receiving equipment, storage and expected consumption; confirm filling weight and labels in the quotation.
Request the matching TDS, SDS and batch documentation. Confirm storage temperature, shelf life and compatibility from the selected model’s documents, and keep containers tightly closed and away from direct sunlight.
